Recipe
Ingredients:
- shredded cabbage
- shredded carrots
- ground meat (optional)
- 1 tsp. of curry powder
- 1/2 tsp. of salt
- 1/2 tsp. of black pepper
- 1 tbsp. of oliveoil
- egg roll wraps
- one beaten egg
- corn oil (for deep frying)
Instructions:
- take out a big skillet and put the olive oil over high heat
- add the ground meat and break it up
- add both the cabbage and carrots to the ground meat
- add the black pepper, salt, and curry powder
- lightly stir until all the ingredients especially the ground meat is done.
- let the mixture cool while you beat one egg to seal the wraps
- when you start rolling the egg rolls make sure you keep a damp towel on the egg roll wraps so they do not dry out.
- to wrap : let the square wraps face you as a diamond and fill the wraps with about 1/3 cup of filling, pull in the two edges and fold over and roll, leave a little of the edge unrolled so you can rub some egg wash on it so they will stay closed.
- pour some corn oil in the pan (enough to cover a little more than half of one egg roll)
- let the pan over high heat and heat the oil for 5 minutes
- add the egg rolls and flip when golden brown
- when the egg rolls are golden brown all over take out and put them in a plate with a paper towel to collect excess oil.
- cool and enjoy !
